Anna had always been a chubby kid. Well-loved by friends and colleagues, her chubbiness never bothered her until she became more self-conscious of her looks and lifestyle as she grew up.
Back when Anna worked in the finance industry, food was her everything: Her stress relief, her socialising tool, her only pleasure. Consequently, she weighed 77kg in her 155cm petite body frame, making up an astounding 35% of body fat.
That prompted Anna to attempt various diets and programmes: keto, fasting, juicing, or even spending over USD 10,000 in one go for fitness training - you name it, Anna tried everything. But none of these diets had sustainable effects. Worse, she only ended up yoyo-dieting and packing on a few more pounds again.
With trials and errors, Anna got very frustrated with her quest of losing weight. Often she got disencouraged by those in her circle. She recalled some said she was “setting up for failure” or “wasting money”.
What really shook Anna at her core was one dress-up event at work, where the dress code was black. Of her entire wardrobe, Anna found out that the only piece of black garment that her body could fit into is a pair of black leggings.
Forget about "party queen" or "boba princess" as her friends would call her. That devasting moment was when she realised she was beyond different from other girls - she found herself unable to blend in. But at the same time - like a blessing in disguise - Anna was determined that she was never going back to yoyo-dieting. This time, she was serious about losing weight once and for all.
