“It all started when I was 25, paying attention to my health”

Before turning 25, she felt invincible - thinking nothing bad could happen. Coming of age, all Dina wanted to do was to understand what was going on with her body. Coupled with agitating skin and digestive issues ignored until she turned 25, Dina sought knowledge of everything related to health and wellness in order to find a solution for herself.

Life as a businesswoman never obstructed her path to maximized wellness. Dina listened to numerous podcasts on bio-hacking while providing health content on her social media platforms as a side-hobby, sharing her knowledge with others.

Dina has constantly strived to become the best version of herself. For many years she has been searching for a holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle - trying out various diets such as pescatarianism, veganism, keto and taking an array of supplements everyday.

“Everything seemed fine until my DNA test results came out.”

Things were looking bright ahead for Dina at first, as she had been striving for perfection with a passion for health and fitness.

Dina wanted to mark her 30th birthday with a CircleDNA test to take her wellness journey to the next level. While she thought she was kickstarting a new decade with wondrous knowledge, little did she know that she unravelled something that would haunt her for some time…
“I have a cancer mutation gene.“

To her surprise, Dina learnt that she has BRCA1 mutation from her CircleDNA test. Given the healthy lifestyle she led, Dina would had had least expected this red flag to show up. This finding shook her particularly hard and made her feel something she wouldn’t have expected on her path to holistic wellness - fear.
It might seem frightful to learn the potentials of gene mutation and underlying disease risks. Uncertainty and disappointment definitely took over Dina when she first saw the reports. But on second thought, she never regretted taking the test. Instead, she was “so thankful” and believed that “there’s a silver lining” in all of this.

You determine your life,
Not your genes.

Although her test revealed indications for potential cancer risks, she also learnt that there’s hope. After learning about her genetic insights, Dina began taking health tests and applied for frequent early screenings to ensure that she stays on-track of her wellness path. To her relief, no cancer mutation has been detected - the mutated gene hasn't developed into any form of cancer yet.

In Dina’s words, “Even though I am clear from cancer risks now, it doesn’t mean that I will be free from it for the rest of my life. The same can apply to anyone. There is a bottom line that everyone can even develop these mutations”.

What can I do with my genes?

Thanks to her committed on-going research on bio-hacking products, Dina stumbled across our CircleDNA tests. With CircleDNA Premium’s 500+ reports, Dina confirmed that her optimum nutritional needs were in fact hindered by her strict vegan diet, as most of the nutritions she was in higher need of can be only found in animal products.

Dina also realised how weak her detoxification system was, so she strengthened it by consuming more cruciferous vegetables. Adjusting her diet and supplements made her feel better ever since, making her the healthy and happy person she is today.
